On all four Sundays this September from 11am to 7pm, Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn will be closed off from Clinton Ave to Emerson Avenue.  This busy street will transform into an active, interactive, pedestrian-friendly public space perfect for walking, cycling, dancing, and people-watching.

Partnering up with with DOT’s Weekend Walks initiative to create Move About Myrtle, this event will bring together residents, merchants and visitors in celebration of community and public space. Some highlights include the 2nd annual Urban Arts Market, an open-air market anchored by live music and DJs, DIY fashion, locally made clothing, food and art vendors, and featuring a roller rink with a live DJ spinning soul music all day. Make sure to check out the “food block”, which is organized by a Just Food VISTA.  It will feature cooking demos by local teens and chefs, potluck picnics, composting demos, gardening demos, plenty of free food and more.
